The Financial Services Group offers two types of financial education: an introductory class and advanced-level seminars. The introductory finance class, Principles of Finance, serves as an excellent primer for corporate finance. Topics include basic financial principles, valuation methods, portfolio management terms, and real world experiences of instructors. The class is taught by members of the Kellogg Finance Club and successful completion of the class is generally a prerequisite for placement into other areas of FSG.Advanced-level seminars are usually held in a discussion-style setting. FSG members who have been involved with the group and have a sufficient background in finance are well suited for the seminars. Classes cover topics such as options, futures, and fixed-income instruments.
