Rick Hahn: White Sox Assistant GM Speaker Event
* Who - Rick Hahn, Assistant GM of the Chicago White Sox: How he got there through Kellogg
* When - Wednesday Feb. 3, 5pm
* Where - Jacobs Center Room 166 (south of Leverone Auditorium in Kellogg)
* What - Come hear the Vice President and Assistant General Manager of the Chicago White Sox talk about his work! Rick has worked for the White Sox for 9 years and is currently responsible for overseeing all aspects of baseball operations, including assisting in the club’s roster composition, player acquisitions, talent evaluations, and contract negotiations. His degree at Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management, Harvard Law School, work at a sports agency, and multiple experiences help him make baseball’s biggest decisions in one of the most fun but toughest jobs in sports. * Who: Kellogg student Michael Schwartz
* When: Tuesday, Nov. 17 at 8pm
* Where: Tech L251
* What: Come listen to former MILWAUKEE BREWERS’ baseball research and special projects coordinator Michael Schwartz talk about how he got into the sports world.

Jim Phillips Speaker Event
* Who - NU Athletic Director Jim Phillips
* What - “How to be the Athletic Director of a Big Ten School.” Jim Phillips will talk about his career track into the sports industry out of college. Jim will tell us the inside world of managing 19 collegiate sports, from football to women’s fencing, the advantages and challenges of marketing Northwestern athletics to the city of Chicago, and corporate sponsorships. He will also talk about how he is involved with improving the athletics programs while maintaining the values of a ’student-athlete.’

John Dewan Speaker Event
* Who - John Dewan.
* When - 5/20, 7 pm
* Where - Parkes 213
* What - John Dewan is one of the leading innovators in the baseball statistics industry. His +/- system is widely regarded as one of the top fielding evaluation systems in the baseball industry. John will be giving a presentation on his revolutionary work. Currently, he is the owner of Baseball Info Solutions which provides baseball data to major league teams, agents, and fantasy services. Vince Gennaro Speaker Event
* What: “The Future of Sports Analytics” with a Q&A period after
* Who: Vince Gennaro. Vince is a consultant to several MLB teams including the Cleveland Indians. He has an MBA from the University of Chicago and had a 20 year career as the head of a PepsiCo division. He is one of the brightest, most well regarded analytical minds in the baseball industry. Along with his consulting working, Vince also teachs sports business courses at Columbia University.
* When: January 30th (Thursday), 12:15 pm - 1:15 pm
* Where: Jacobs 101 (first room on the right as you enter the main entrace into Kellogg)
